Baby Duke {Danville, Il Newborn Photographers}

Tomorrow our newest nephew will be 2 weeks old! As I type that I cannot believe it’s already been 2 weeks! Time absolutely flies. Soon enough he won’t want to be held, cuddled, and snuggled so much…I feel like those are always sad times. I guess it’s more bittersweet than sad, because you don’t just miss and lose the cuddling, but he will be doing something new by then that will definitely put a smile on my face. I don’t know exactly what it is about babies that makes me so happy :) but they do, especially all of our nieces and nephews. Time with them just smacks life right back into perspective! How blessed Blaine and I are to have this new little one in our lives. We got to take care of the two older ones, Gracie and Jackson while Blaine’s sister was in the hospital. So two Fridays ago I headed home to get Jackson and then a couple hours later we picked Gracie up from pre-school! How fun!!! She was thrilled! I asked her if she knew where mommy was and she said, “Yes!!!! She went to the doctors to get the baby out!” We spent the day going out to lunch with my grandma, laying around with Uncle Blaine watching Spongebob, and getting some dinner. And then finally…baby Duke made his arrival! We were in the restaurant when we received the news and gosh, Gracie was excited! She doesn’t have the quietest voice, so the whole place found out she was a new big sister :) We went to the hospital and waited what seemed like forever for them to bring Duke to the room. We all took turns holding him, but no amount of time was enough! I’d have held that little guy all night! ¬†Jackson isn’t even two yet so throughout his moms pregnancy I don’t think he knew what was actually going on. So, upon seeing the new baby he was very interested. ¬†I think these two are going to give their mom and dad a run for their money eventually :) Gracie’s so eager to help with her new brother and is always saying she wants to get him his drinks! Shes already singing to him when he cries. How sweet is that? Here are some images from Gracie and Jackson waiting somewhat patiently that Friday; the hospital visit; and some of Duke’s first full day home!
